I read it for the World and Creatures

this is the first book in a seven book long series. It is about a boy who runs away from home (sort of) and finds himself lost in the deepwoods. there are really incredible creatures in this world but the story is a little slow paced. I read it just for the world and made it to the fourth before quitting for something else. I would still recommend these books to people who enjoy weird birds, flying snakes and cities in the sky.

Well-executed

The narrative is remarkably intricate, and the world-building is both fascinating and exceptionally well-executed. The characters exhibit a high degree of depth, even the enigmatic Gloamglozer himself! While I do harbor a slight preference for a more gradual transition between settings, the exceptional storytelling prowess compensates for this aspect to a considerable extent.
