A story by Rose Henry (age 5)
When I am 9 years old I will drive my car to a train, the train will take me to a boat, I will be on the boat for a day and night. The boat takes me right to the airport then the airplane takes me to the jungle.
I parachute into the jungle, it’s really fun, I go down like I’m diving, I dive into the pretty jungle. There are lots of colorful flowers; the trees are a beautiful green I land right by a cave with a lion sleeping in it. The lion looks kinda like it’s walking up, and I scream. I check if it’s walking up or not. It is not, so… I go somewhere else, and see giraffes. After that I see zebras then I see elephants and I see hippos.
I see some alligators, they are really friendly and I made friends with them. They asked me is I want to go for a swim, I said “I would love to” but first I need to run home and get my swimsuit, goggles and I will come back to jungle. I had all that stuff in my backpack, I changed into my swimsuit, and then I said “are you hungry” they said, “yes, we are staved” I told them “I have ten bags of fish”. I threw the fish into the water, they said (after they finished chewing) “that was scrumptious” and they said, “do you have any more?” And I said “yes” and I said “I will go get those bags” and I had thirteen more bags of fish.
They said (after their meal) “we are so full” and I said to them “lets swim”, and I dove in. Then the alligators asked if I knew how to go underwater. I said “yes” so they said, ” we will count to see how long you stay under water” they counted to one hundred and one. After swimming I said, “I am going to get some sweats on (that I had in my backpack).
They walked on to the rocks and I got a pillow. They asked if I wanted to take a nap with them, I said “yes, that is why I got my pillow”. And I took a nap with the alligators. When we woke up I said, “let’s play,” they asked me “what I had to play” and I said that I have jr. Monopoly, Alligator Swim and Candy Land and they picked alligator swim. We played, and they won. I was so happy that they won because they are my friends, I said “see ya later alligator, I need to visit some other animals”.
Next I found the petting zoo, the alligators said “wait, we want to go to” I said “I’m sorry you can’t, the other kids might get scared. I do have some animals for you to pet” I gave them my pets. I had to go home so I just said bye this time. I rode a horse all the way home (that the zoo let me have because I was so nice to all the animals)
